A countdown to the Tour de France 2020 on the French Riviera

11.12.2019

Wednesday 11 December 2019, Nice. A Tissot countdown was inaugurated this Wednesday midday on the Masséna Square in Nice, an emblematic spot along the French Riviera. The countdown tallies the number of days remaining until the Grand Départ of the race, which will take place in Nice on June 27th.

For Mr Thiébaud, “Nice, on the Mediterranean coast, offers the ideal backdrop for the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2020. The region – particularly the Alpes Maritimes – offers the competitors a chance to shine, with beautiful landscapes to admire and difficult challenges to face. The 2020 Tour de France will certainly be exceptional.” Yann Le Moenner, General Director of the Amaury Sport Organisation, states that “with the launch of this countdown to the start of the Tour de France’s 107th edition, hosted by Christian Estrosi, we stand at 199 days from our concrete collaboration with the city of Nice. We are already delighted to know that we will welcome Tour de France enthusiasts on June 25th for the opening of the first Fan Park. The eagerness for this countdown by Tissot is a very good sign for this 2020 edition, and once again it demonstrates that bikes have a rightful place in our cities. This fervour will continue even after the Grand Départ, with the local Stage of the Tour de France on July 5th, when 16,000 cyclist athletes will gather in the Bay of Angels.”
