TISSOT STARTED COUNTING DOWN 100 DAYS TO THE 2016 IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP-1834

At GUM Skating rink at Red Square by the Kremlin, Tissot, Official Timekeeper of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships since 1996, held a ceremony to start counting down 100 days to the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship which will be held from May 6 to 22 in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. The opening ceremony saw sportsmen parade with the sixteen flags of the participating countries of the 2016 IIHF World Championship. As a part of the celebration, an all-star ice hockey exhibition game was then held. The team captains were IIHF ice hockey world champion Alexey Yashin and world-renowned musician Igor Butman.

François Thiébaud, Tissot President, Alexey Vorobyov, head of Moscow Department of Physical Fitness and Sport and Vladislav Tretiak, Russian Ice Hockey Federation President had the honour of Kicking-off the match. 

The GUM Skating rink was then taken over by the first vice-president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Roman Rotenberg, musicians Igor Butman and Kirill Andreev, actors Andrey Sokolov, Andrei Merzlikin, Alexander Dyachenko, Alexander Inshakov, Andrey Burkovsky, Igor Ugolnikov, Vyacheslav Razbegaev, figure skaters Ilya Averbukh, Roman Kostomarov and others.
