Homage to Nicky Hayden

Homage to Nicky Hayden-3680

Nicky was more than a Tissot ambassador, he was a faithful friend and part of the family.

Nicky Hayden was known for his unique riding style, honed in his early days dirt track racing. He won his first Dirt Track Grand National Championship when he was 18. He also received Rookie of the Year award and was named AMA Athlete of the Year in road racing that same season.

Known as the “Kentucky Kid”, in his first MotoGP season in 2003 he won Rookie of the Year honours after finishing fifth behind his teammate and defending Champion, Valentino Rossi. He then became the first rider to give Tissot a MotoGP World Championship Title in 2006, in a season that will go down as one for the ages. With 216 Grand Prix starts, including 3 wins and 1 World Championship, he was inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame as a MotoGP Legend.

In 2016, Nicky set himself a new challenge, moving to the World Superbike Championship to try to become the first rider to win both titles.

On the track, Nicky’s highly competitive personality drove him to be one of the hardest working and most respected racers on the circuit. Off the track, his infamous smile, infectious personality and genuine good nature mean that he will be sorely missed by all that had the chance to meet him.
