Time spent in pursuit of excellence

Every contemporary Tissot watch is the product of over 170 years of development, innovation and success, made possible by the achievements of countless generations of skilled watchmakers who worked tirelessly in the pursuit of excellence and a desire to be the best. Those same values have inspired generations of basketball players and continue to define global basketball culture, too. Tissot and its basketball partners, the NBA (National Basketball Association) and FIBA (International Basketball Federation), know well: there are no shortcuts. Greatness does not happen overnight.

In the metal

The Tissot Supersport has always been defined by its quality and its versatility. As before, this special edition Supersport is a high-performance sports watch, boasting 100 metres of water-resistance and a 1/10 of a second chronograph with add and split functions. But it’s also highly wearable, with a compelling design that can move seamlessly from day to night and night to day.

This special edition has a distinctly urban feel, backed up by its 45.5mm black PVD-coated stainless steel case, crown and pushers, and by a gradient black dial with an original basketball net pattern that fades stylishly toward the centre. The watch also has three subdials; two for the chronograph's 1/10th of a second and 30-minute counters, and a third for the watch’s running seconds. The chronograph hands are in sporty orange, as is the watch's central chronograph seconds hand, a colour chosen for its parallels with basketball.

These also contribute to the watch’s elevated legibility, a theme that also informs the hour and minute hands and the 12 hour markers, all of which are filled with bright white Super-LumiNova®. The date window and the bezel’s tachymeter scale (for measuring speed over a known distance) are also white on black for ease of use. Under the dial is a high-quality Swiss Made quartz movement with a useful end-of-life indicator.

Fundamentally, the Supersport is a street-style watch designed for dynamic men who want a versatile, assertive sports watch they can wear for sport and in everyday life. The watch’s bold, brooding silhouette is angular, muscular even, and yet it’s also slim enough to slip under a cuff.

A FIBA World Cup 2023 limited edition strap

As the FIBA World Cup 2023 approaches and continuing the story of personalisation that runs through the Tissot collection, a unique FIBA World Cup 2023 edition strap has been designed. Honouring the championship's primary colours, the strap features corner stitching in blue, red, orange, and yellow. Adding to its allure, the official logo is elegantly embossed in a subtle tone-on-tone manner. This special edition strap upholds versatility and can seamlessly fit any timepiece with a 22mm lug width, thanks to Tissot's quick-change system.

Renowned for his contributions to FC Barcelona and his distinguished NBA tenure, Willy is gearing up to represent Spain in the FIBA World Cup 2023. Coming off his exceptional performance at EuroBasket 2022, where he earned the Tissot MVP award, his participation promises a captivating spectacle for the upcoming global basketball event.
