ESPARGARO BRINGS SUZUKI LONG AWAITED SUCCESS -1276

Local boy Aleix Espargaro brought Suzuki their first pole position for eight years when he led the way in qualifying for the Grand Prix of Catalunya in Spain this afternoon. Espargaro, taking full advantage of his softer tyre option, smashed the lap record round the 4.727 kms circuit on the outskirts of the Mediterranean city of Barcelona to take the second pole position of his career. He received his pole setting Tissot T-Touch Solar watch from Javier Nunez, the Tissot Spain Brand Manager, in a great day for Suzuki with his team-mate Maverick Viñales in second place. Jorge Lorenzo completed the front row for the 25 lap race as he chases his fourth successive MotoGP™ win. He trails Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi by six points in the Championship. Rossi qualified on the third row in seventh place.
