Tissot Launches Dedicated Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014

Tissot Launches Dedicated Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014-952

Le Locle, July 17, 2014. Tissot launches a limited edition watch dedicated to the FIBA Basketball World Cup Spain 2014. The inspiration comes from timing some of the most important matches in the world, as Official Timekeeper of FIBA since 2008.

Tissot is known for its accuracy, which is the reason it makes such a good Timekeeper. The Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 bears that famous precision that will further be showcased during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2014, from August 30 to September 14, 2014 in Spain.

During the tournament, Tissot will be providing fairness to the teams, that have already proven themselves in the FIBA Continental Championships and that will now be aiming for a worldwide recognition. This is what the Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 stands for.

Only 2014 of these watches, with the FIBA Basketball World Cup logo engraved on the caseback, will be produced. The love of the game is illustrated by a bright orange aluminium ring reminding wearers of the basketballs that rule the courts, the shadow of which is cast on the dial with a special black-on-black finish. The embossed surrounding of the counters give it a bold attitude fit to compete, while other details such as orange indices in the counters and stitching on the leather strap add to its stylish and sporty look.

Tissot President François Thiébaud said: “Being associated with such an international sport as basketball underlines our dynamic nature and our values of precision and performance. In turn, we will keep rising to the challenge of ensuring that success and victory at that level are firmly rooted in precision and fairness. Offering exclusive timekeeping services and unique designed watches also gives our passionate customers an additional reason to be proud of their commitment to Tissot.”

Patrick Baumann, FIBA Secretary General and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member, said: "We are extremely thankful to Tissot for creating a limited edition watch to commemorate the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Those lucky enough to get their hands on a Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 should make sure to cherish this unique souvenir and specially made time piece long after the first-ever FIBA Basketball World Cup is over. It is through this type of initiative that our relationship with Tissot - a FIBA Global Partner since 2008 - has improved year after year and delivered great benefits.
