Time Well Kept
Watches carry fragments of our lives, they are the guardians of memory, connection, and time itself. From milestones celebrated to ordinary days, they hold meaning beyond their mechanisms.
Passed down through generations, they hold the stories of the people who lived before us and at Tissot we believe those stories deserve to live on. That belief is what led to the creation of The Vintage workshop a dedicated restoration service born from Tissot’s commitment to honouring its past. As interest in vintage models grows, so does the desire to preserve them.
Backed by over 170 years of watchmaking expertise, it reflects the brand’s deep-rooted understanding of time. Each mechanical watch is received with care, examined and restored with the intention of preserving what makes it unique.
Within the walls of Tissot’s atelier, expert watchmakers draw on decades of savoir-faire to revive these timepieces. Some repairs require movements that have long been out of production, yet Tissot holds a vast reserve of historical movements, ready to tick again.
From the moment a vintage watch enters The Vintage workshop, it begins a meticulous journey. The process starts with a complete diagnostic, where expert watchmakers evaluate the condition of the timepiece and determine the feasibility of its restoration. Every component is carefully examined, and when parts are worn or missing, Tissot searches its own archive for original pieces, preserving authenticity at every stage.
Once the plan is set, the watch is fully dismantled. Each element is separated, cleaned, and, if needed, polished. Cases and bracelets are gently revived, crystals are either restored or replaced, and every decision is made with the owner’s approval to protect the watch’s historical value.
So far, this service has been available exclusively in Switzerland, but a gradual expansion to other markets such as Italy, Germany, and France before the summer 2025.
A way to give time its voice back, letting what once marked a moment, continue to carry meaning into the future.
